COUNTDOWN TO 2010 ENTRY DEADLINE
The 2010 Contest is taking shape. I will have everything up before March 1. The player lists are up now. If you see a
problem send
an email (bartscontest2010@gmail.com). Remember that the lists probably don't print very well from the webpage.
I suggest you use one of the alternate ways of getting the contest materials.
I have lost my raw stat provider. I have found a tentative replacement but I am not sure of its reliability. I may change from the
26 weekly prizes to 6 monthly awards. If I have to enter stats by hand I only want to do it 6 times not 26.
I am increasing the types of special awards. Added to the HR Derby and the Singleton awards I intend to create a Stolen Base prize along the
lines of HR Derby. Also I intend to add Total Strikeouts and Team ERA on the pitching side. This should make things more interesting.
We lost Harney's TV as a local site to distribute contest info. While Farley's is still in business I need to rely more on
the internet for getting entries. To keep this thing financially feasible I would like to get to 400+ entries. To this end, I need your
help in spreading the word.
Welcome
to an easy and fun fantasy
baseball contest. You select the players according to a set of
simple rules, get your entry in on time, and then sit back and
enjoy the progress (or lack of it) of your team. No need to worry about replacing
players because you can't. No roster maintenance or extra fees. It's about
as simple as you can get.
This contest started locally in 1991 with 69 entries. Over the
years it has grown to 200+ entries, some of which come from all
over the United States. With more people having access to the Web
I decided to post results here and open the contest to the whole
world.
By browsing thru the links on the left you will get a quick
idea of how things work. Standings appear on the site every Monday. There are 26 weekly
winners, a Home Run Derby contest, and special prizes to the persons who select the highest scoring position player and pitcher
taken only once in the contest.
